Branding

overview.
hoffy is a fashion-tech startup redefining how people discover and shop for clothing they actually love. using a blend of machine learning and editorial curation, hoffy delivers a personalized style feed that evolves with every interaction. they approached us ahead of their public launch, needing an app experience that could compete with the best consumer products on the market.
challenge.
fashion discovery apps often feel like browsing a cluttered department store — too much choice, too little context, and no sense of personal identity. hoffy's early prototype had strong technology but a generic interface that made it feel indistinguishable from every other shopping app.
the recommendation engine was genuinely impressive. but users couldn't feel its intelligence in the experience. the product's most powerful feature was invisible.

solution.
we built hoffy's identity around the idea of a curated personal wardrobe. a warm, editorial visual system — rich photography, generous whitespace, a sophisticated serif-meets-sans type pairing — makes every screen feel like a premium fashion magazine.
the onboarding flow uses interactive style quizzes that double as a design statement, building the algorithm while building desire. the home feed balances algorithmic recommendations with human-curated trend edits, giving users both the personalization they want and the discovery they didn't know they were looking for.

good taste isn't about knowing every brand — it's about knowing yourself. we designed hoffy to be a mirror that reflects your style back to you, then gently expands it.
outcome.
hoffy launched to an invite-only waitlist of 22,000 users. the app store featured them in 'apps we love' during launch week, and hoffy maintained a 4.8 star rating through its first 10,000 reviews. average session length was 6.2 minutes — more than triple the industry benchmark for fashion apps.
the brand identity and design system we delivered extended seamlessly across the app, website, and marketing materials — enabling hoffy's small team to maintain exceptional visual consistency through their first year of rapid growth.
